DutchCulture continues framework cooperation with OCAT Museums

On 29th September, DutchCulture and our long-term partner OCAT Museums announced in Shenzhen, China the renewal of a framework cooperation agreement in various art and cultural disciplines. The announcement was made on the festive opening of exhibition LAND(E)SCAPE, which (re-)imagines the landscape of our future life through eyes of the Dutch designer duo Studio Makkink&Bey. This exhibition is also a special program to punctuate the 10-year anniversary of the OCT Art & Design Gallery, co-supported by Consulate Generale of the Netherlands in Guangzhou.

A long-term partnership

Derived from solid cooperation on a string of Sino-Dutch projects dated back from 2011, OCT Group and DutchCulture signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement (2013-2016) in the fall of 2013. Next to a number of academic exchanges, performance projects and mutual visitors’ programs, the Agreement led to the success of the international traveling exhibition The Future of Fashion is Now, opened in Shanghai first on the occasion of the State Visit to China of the Netherlands (October 2015), and followed by its Shenzhen stop (March-July 2016) with commissioned works from Chinese artists and designers. Through the partnership, DutchCulture and OCT Group have established sincere friendship and built mutual understanding of their international undertakings and missions.

2018-2021

After 2016, cultural and art status quo and infrastructure have been changing in both China and the Netherlands. In order to sustain the precious experiences and resources that have been achieved in the past, and to continue cooperation with an focus on mutual strength in multiple disciplines, DutchCulture re-joins force with the OCAT Museums, the core of OCT Group's cultural initiatives. The two parties aim to renew their close international partnership in the period of 2018-2021 by further facilitating cultural, art and academic projects between the Netherlands and China, and to continuously nurture a good international relation of cultural exchange and cooperation.

About OCAT Museums

Established in 2005, OCT Contemporary Arts Terminal (OCAT) became an independent non-profit organization in April 2012, laying the foundation for its group of contemporary art museums across China. Headquartered in Shenzhen, the OCAT Museums are sponsored by the state-owned enterprise OCT Group, comprising OCAT Shenzhen, OCT Art & Design Gallery (Shenzhen), OCAT Shanghai, OCAT Xi’an, OCAT Institute (Beijing) as well as satellite exhibition sites for project-based collaborations.
